Couples Work
Compassionate, Shame-Free Treatment That Works
I work with couples who feel stuck in recurring patterns of conflict, disconnection, resentment, or difficulty communicating and understanding one another. My approach integrates advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, helping couples identify the deeper emotions and attachment needs underneath their conflicts while developing more effective ways to communicate, repair, and reconnect. I also draw from the work of Esther Perel and Terry Real, particularly around intimacy, desire, relational accountability, and the patterns that can develop over the course of a long-term relationship.
For couples experiencing high levels of conflict or emotional reactivity, I incorporate principles from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help partners regulate intense emotions, slow down escalating interactions, and communicate more effectively during difficult moments. Rather than determining who is “right,” I help couples understand the cycle they have become caught in and the role each partner plays in maintaining it. The goal is to create greater emotional safety, curiosity, accountability, and connection—while giving couples practical tools they can use outside of the therapy room.
