Social Anxiety
Compassionate, Shame-Free Treatment That Works
I work with individuals struggling with social anxiety, fear of judgment, self-consciousness, and overthinking in relationships, dating, work, and everyday social situations. These challenges can be especially difficult to navigate today, when social media, dating apps, and increased time online can amplify comparison, self-consciousness, and worries about how we are perceived. It can become easy to retreat behind a screen, overanalyze interactions, or avoid the vulnerability and uncertainty that come with connecting in person.
My approach incorporates evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and exposure-based interventions. I combine these approaches with compassion and an understanding of how difficult it can be to change long-standing patterns of avoidance. Together, we work on taking meaningful interpersonal risks - whether that means initiating conversations, dating, speaking up, tolerating awkwardness, or allowing yourself to be seen without constantly evaluating how you’re coming across. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety or become perfectly confident, but to develop the freedom to connect more authentically and participate more fully in your life, even when anxiety or uncertainty shows up. In our sessions, we prioritize creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can express your feelings openly. We believe that understanding your unique journey is key to effective treatment. By integrating skills from therapies like DBT and ACT, we focus on building resilience and self-acceptance, which are vital components in combating depressive symptoms. Ultimately, our goal is to empower you to take actionable steps toward recovery, helping you rediscover joy in your daily life and fostering a renewed sense of purpose.
